Utilities & Services

Your maintenance fees at The Hillcrest include all your utilities, trash collection, water and sewer, and basic cable. They also cover the cost for keeping a 24-hour Front Desk steward, a freight elevator operator, housekeeping for public areas, and a Manager.

Trash Collection 

Trash and recycling bins are available on each end of each floor and are periodically emptied on weekdays by the staff. Building trash is collected at the service entrance each Monday.

Internet & Cable

The Hillcrest pays for each unit to receive basic cable. Homeowners may choose to upgrade at their own expense. Wifi is available in the Parlor and Sky Room. 

Heating and Air Conditioning

The Hillcrest manages the steam heat throughout the building. Updates to this system were made between 2020 and 2022. A few apartments have been fitted with electric heat which is maintained by the homeowner.  Air-conditioning units are the sole responsibility of the homeowner. 

Laundry Facilities

Only first-floor apartments may install laundry machines. The common laundry room in the basement is maintained by The Hillcrest and is open to all residents 24-hours a day for $1 a load.

Security

The outer doors of The Hillcrest are locked 24/7 and security cameras are installed in key areas around the outside of the building. The Front Desk monitors the entrances and cameras.

Parking

The parking garage features valet service between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. Some parking spaces (no more than one space per unit) in that facility are available for a fee. The spaces are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis from a list in the Manager's office. Other parking is available on the streets around the building and in a small open parking lot on the southwest side of the building.
